Description
- Easy to use
- Handwash recommended
- Prevents the dough from over rising
- Great for use on pizzas, pastries and other delicate doughs
A dough docker is a food preparation device that resembles a small spiked rolling pin. It is used to pierce through bread dough, pizza dough and pastry dough to prevent it from over rising or blistering in the oven. The spikes on the docker create small holes in the dough, which allows steam to escape during baking. This prevents the dough from rising too much and forming large bubbles, which often results in uneven cooking.
This Roller Docker with a Steel Handle and Plastic Barrel Metal Pins from Cooksmill is a great tool to have in kitchens. The handle is easy to hold, and with plenty of spikes on the docker, you don't have to worry about your pizza rising. The handle is made from durable steel, ensuring its longevity in busy kitchens. It measures 13cm.
Dough dockers are typically used for thin-crust pizzas and other delicate doughs. They also make the dough easier to stretch and shape, and can even be used to create decorative patterns on the dough. They're a must have for pizzerias, bakeries and takeaways that make their own dough.
