Daigh Cooking Pots

Daigh cooking pots, also known as Deg, Daig or Degchi, are a timeless staple in South Asian and Middle Eastern kitchens, valued for their generous capacity, robust construction, and ability to infuse food with rich, deep flavours. Traditionally used for biryani, curries, stews, and large-volume rice dishes, these heavy-duty cooking pots are designed to handle high-heat, long-cook recipes with ease.

Crafted from thick-gauge aluminium, Daighs are built to withstand the rigours of commercial use. Their wide base and tall, rounded walls allow for even heat distribution and slow, consistent simmering, key for dishes like Hyderabadi dum biryani, nihari, or haleem. The shape of the pot traps steam and flavours, ensuring tender meats, aromatic rice, and fully-developed masalas.

Available in a variety of sizes ranging from 12” to 17”, these pots are ideal for caterers, restaurants, or anyone preparing food in bulk. Each of our Daighs come with matching lids to keep your food hot and fresh as you’re serving.

Daigh pots can be used on open gas flames, traditional wood-fire stoves, or commercial burners. Their curved base supports convection-style heating, allowing food to circulate naturally as it cooks.
