Pastry Brushes

Pastry brushes have a multitude of uses in kitchens and food prep areas. They can be used to apply liquids, such as egg wash, or oil, to food. They can also be used for basting meat with sauce or marinade, cleaning crumbs from a cake before icing it, spreading pizza sauce over dough and brushing oil on bread before baking to give it a crispy crust.

We have a range of brushes available here at Cooksmill. Brushes with natural bristles should be used for delicate foods, such as pastries and cakes. Synthetic brushes can be used for meat and pizza sauce. Soak the brush in warm water before using it, this helps to prevent the bristles from shedding. After you've used the brush, rinse it thoroughly with hot water and allow it to air dry.
