Description
- 4 ear strainer
- Stainless steel
- Perfect for cocktails
- Strains drink easily
A Hawthorn strainer, also known as a julep strainer or a four-pronged strainer, is a bar tool used to strain cocktails and other beverages. It has a fine-mesh screen and four wire prongs that fit snugly over the rim of a cocktail shaker or mixing glass. This design helps to trap ice and other large particles while allowing the liquid to pass through.
The Hawthorn strainer is the most common strainer used for shaken cocktails, such as margaritas, daiquiris, and Manhattans. The fine-mesh screen prevents ice and other large particles from making their way into the drink. It can also be used for stirred cocktails and to strain infused syrups. The strainer is also fantastic for straining juices as the fine-mesh screen removes pulp and seeds.
The strainer is made from stainless steel, ensuring its durability in busy bars. Handwashing is recommended due to the small and fragile parts of the strainer. Ensure it is fully dry before using it again. The strainer can be hung up when not in use, thanks to the hole at the end of the handle.
We have a wide range of strainers to choose from, as well as cocktail equipment and bartending products.
