Beef Stew

Beef stew

Nothing says winter quite like a good old fashioned beef stew. Starting off the list in true British style is this highly popular dish. While there are many variations of a beef stew, we prefer to keep it simple. Ideally, we'd use locally sourced beef and vegetables to recreate this tasty family meal. In order to get the best possible flavour, sear the beef first before simmering it together with a red wine and herb sauce. When it comes to veggies, potatoes, carrots, and celery are the perfect combination. Finish it off by seasoning it to taste. Our  heavy-duty pots are specifically designed to cook stews and casseroles. Ideal for tomato-based dishes, these pans can withstand all acidic ingredients. Once your stew is ready, serve it up with a side of homemade dumplings for the ultimate winter feast.

Red Lentil Soup

Red lentil soup

Soup is one of those winter warmers that never gets old. As a versatile dish, you can get pretty creative in the kitchen. From a quick and simple tomato soup to cauliflower and turmeric, there is a wide range of recipes to suit all taste buds. Ideally suited to those chilly winter months, soup is also a great cold and flu buster. Keep your tummy warm and happy with a selection of immune-boosting ingredients. Whether you're vegan, gluten-free, or pescatarian, soup can be adapted to suit all needs and dietary requirements. It's quick to make and can be eaten on the go.

For a healthy vegetarian option, we simply can't get enough of red lentil soup. For this recipe, you will need a carrot, two stalks of celery, a small onion, one cup of red lentils, one bay leaf, four cups of water, two tablespoons of lemon juice, a tablespoon of olive oil, and a dash of salt. For a large batch, heat up the olive oil in one of our  aluminium stockpots, add the vegetables and salt and leave for five minutes. Next, add the water, lentils, and bay leaf. Bring it to boil before reducing the heat and leaving it to simmer for approximately 20 minutes. Once you have taken the soup off the heat, you can add the lemon juice and season it to taste with salt.

Beef pie

Pie fillings

Nothing quite says British winter like a homemade pie. From a rich beef and Guinness pie to a sweet apple pie, we certainly know how to make a good pastry filling. Whether you prefer sweet or savoury, our  aluminium saucepans are well suited to pie fillings. Steak and kidney, venison, and fish pie are all firm favourites, while vegetarians might opt for spinach and feta. And, for dessert, an apple and blackberry pie topped with custard is the perfect choice this winter.

Cottage pie

Now, it would be difficult to write about winter warmers without including this long-standing favourite. Unlike the pastry style pie, a cottage pie usually consists of minced beef cooked with red wine, a selection of vegetables, Worcestershire sauce, tomato puree, and garlic. All of this sits beneath a bed of mashed potato and cheese. Our  massive range of saucepans offer a great choice for both the mince and the mash.

Other winter favourites

As you can see, there are lots of delicious recipes to try this winter. Whether you're cooking for the family or an entire restaurant, you can't go wrong with these popular dishes. Of course, there are plenty of other recipes that we couldn't fit onto the list. From toad in the hole to seafood chowder, this season is brimming with tasty treats. Whatever you prefer, it's time to start cooking up your favourite winter warmers with our reliable  range of cookware.
