Made from steel, this steamer plate is great for a wide range of dishes and steaming options. The plate is used to hold vegetables and other food items over boiling water so they can be steam cooked.

The plate is made from steel, which means the product is durable to last frequent uses and washes, ideal for busy kitchens and hospitality suites.

The plate measures 16” around, making it great for a range of pan sizes.

How to use a Steamer Plater

Before using your steamer plate, wash it in warm, soapy water to ensure it is clean for use. Then fill a pan with water, and wait for it to boil.

Once the water starts to boil, place the steamer plate over the pan, resting it on the top of the pan. Then, add the desired food that you wish to steam on top of the plate.

The strategically cut holes will allow steam to escape out the top, cooking whatever is on top of the plate.

A steamer plate can be used to steam a wide range of things, including but not limited to fish, vegetables, dumplings, tamales and eggs.

How to clean a Steamer Plate

Usually, a quick hand wash with warm, soapy water and a cloth or non-metallic sponge will clean your steamer well.

However, sometimes a more thorough cleaning is required if there are stains, or a more odorous food has been cooked on the plate. To do this, squeeze lemon juice into a bowl or container of hot water, and place the plate inside. Let it soak for a few minutes, before rinsing off the lemon juice, and drying your plate.

If there are food particles stuck in the holes of the plate, you can remove these using a new toothbrush, to gently brush away the debris.
