Victorinox was established over 130 years ago by Karl Elsener in Ibach-Schwyz, Switzerland. In 1891 the company supplied a soldier’s knife to the Swiss Army for the first time. This was to become known as the iconic Swiss Army Knife. It rose to fame when returning service men after the second world war took the knives home as a popular souvenir. Still a family business the Victorinox brand is a registered trade mark in over 20 different countries and offer a diverse portfolio from knives to watches to fragrances.

Victorinox Chef’s Knives

Every chef knows the secret to a successful kitchen is a great knife. Victorinox chef’s knives are excellently balanced and incredibly sharp. There is a knife for every job in the kitchen from slicing, chopping, mincing, forming and flattening. Each knife is made from a single piece of steel which is connected to the handle using solid rivets. They offer a blade that’s extra wide and straight. Combined with the handle, they create excellent leverage, and the needed force is reduced to a minimum. The style of the Chinese chef’s knife is reminiscent of a kitchen cleaver. However, it serves for a lot more than just deboning meat. The wide blade and the very narrow, smooth cutter are extremely versatile and easily go through meat, game and poultry, vegetables, herbs and fruits.
